Eli gained about 1/2 cm in growth last night, in his esophagus. As best we can tell, that leaves about 2 cm left. Of course, he will need some past that so the connection will not be strained. As of right now, Dr. Hess is planning on attaching the ends together on Tuesday. He feels we can get enough over the weekend to do the repair. If not, then more tension and a surgery later to do the repair. He is progressing very well and is responding very well to the medications. We are truly blessed to be here and under Dr. Hess's care. He is a very wonderful person, as well as a wonderful surgeon. We just keep looking around at other children/families here and realize how blessed we are to be at this point. Some are not doing as well. On that note, I would like to ask everyone to pray for another baby girl in Eli's unit. She is having some serious issues and the doctors are not giving the family much hope. They are wonderful, Godly people and know it is in His hands. Please be in prayer for that family. (I won't mention the name because I didn't ask for permission, but God knows).
Again, thanks to all who are praying and keeping up with us. It is truly a blessing to have such a network of friends and family who care. We are all doing well and settling in fine. This is a nice city to visit and the people have all been very nice. We will update over the weekend regarding the progress. Just keep praying and pray specifically that enough stretching will occur that the two ends can be connected.
Thanks and God Bless......
