SURGERY IS COMPLETE!!!!!

Elijah is out of surgery and everything went really well and he is doing great. The put in the sutures to stretch his esophagus and stomach. They also had to repair a hole that was connecting the esophagus and the trachea, which likely was causing all of his previous breathing episodes. He is now in a paralytic coma and is feeling no pain, which is great for him. He looks really good. He is now going to be stretched daily until the esophagus and stomach are close enough to repair. We pray this does not take too long so he won't have to be on the vent and the paralytic medication for a long time. We are so thankful for all that God has shown us through the beginning of our long journey. He has proven himself faithful over and over again. Ryan and I definately had to give him COMPLETELY over to him no matter what that meant good or bad. Just like when Abraham had to take Isaac for sacrifice God showed us that when we obey and give it all to him that is our altar/sacrifice to him. We thanked God that he chose a good outcome for us adn we give him all the praise for it. We couldn't have asked for a better surgeon, nicer nurses and a wonderful place to stay. This is such an overwhelming testimony to God's goodness it makes my heart want to burst.

On a lighter note, we went to the mall of america and yes it is very overwhelming....I took pictures. Please pray for the boys during this time that they understand what is going on and do not feel neglected at all. They are doing really well with it right now but we have only been here 5 days, six weeks is a long time. Until next time thanks for all your prayers they keep us going.
