Sunday 8/17

Hello all!!! I was just checking the blog and realized it has been a few days since we have updated. Sorry about that. We had a minor setback on Friday, as Matthew had to leave to go back to Kentucky for school. We have had a hard time with that, but we know it is best for him. It really has been a long weekend and we have been somewhat depressed because he had to leave. Elijah is doing well though and we continue to thank God for his recovery. Day by day he continues to grow stronger and is experiencing a few side effects to the medication he was on during the paralysis. He is having another esophagram on Wednesday to check for leaks. Please pray that there are none!!! Also, he had a an issue while coming off the vent last week, so they had to re-intubate him. They are now being more conservative with their approach and are doing more breathing trials to build up his stamina and lung muscles. He is responding well so far. He has gotten quite a bit of rest the last couple of days, which he needed tremendously. Please pray he continues to do well on the trials and is able to come off the ventilator soon. We would love to see his wonderful face, not the fish face we now see. But all in all, Dr. Hess is very pleased with his progress and feels he is doing very well.

Our guess is we are looking at least three more weeks here, but nothing has been confirmed. God has been gracious and we are truly thankful to be here. It has been difficult to adjust and we are very homesick for the lovely bluegrass. Now more than ever with Matthew back home. Pray this time goes by as quickly as God desires and that Elijah continues to do well. Thanks to all who are concerned and are praying. We truly appreciate it.

Until next time, may God Bless you,

The Frazier's
