Monday 8-18

Well Matthew went to 2nd grade today for his first day of school. He says he had a really good day and got to see all of his friends. we are glad he is content at home in Ky. with my parents. As for us we got a free haircut today here at the RMH from a salon/spa in Minneapolis. Needless to say it was probably the most expensive (free) haircut we have ever had (but not the best LaDonna ha ha ha). We even got a pressure point massage......not me I hate it you know.
Eli is doing o.k. today. He is very comfortable with a few doses of pain meds. However, we just found he has osteopenia (fragile bones) and has several stress fractures in both of his arms. This is repairable but he has to be handled VERY gently. We can't even pull his legs up to diaper him since we might fracture his legs. He has to be rolled while he is being changed. He will begin to get supplements of calcium and phosporous to increas the mineral density in his bones. He is probably experiencing this due to his prematurity, taking lasix & steroids as well as being fed only IV nutrients for so long. Please pray for Wed. when he has his esophogram that the leak is healed. Also that in the next few days he can be extubated easily. Talk to you later.
